Beschreibung

This course builds on the course “R4All: An introduction to the basics of R”, though could be taken by anyone with a reasonable grasp of the modern basics (e.g., is acquainted with the concept of tidy data, and the basic use of the add-on packages dplyr and ggplot2). R4All has been providing this course to researchers across the globe for over ten years, giving the time and experience to design and finesse the course structure and content. Our latest development (new in 2015) has been for us to teach a modern approach to working in R, which focuses on simple, intuitive, and coherent tools.
Topics include:

  • Review foundational concepts (e.g., tidy data)
  • Linear models, including ANOVA, regression, and ANCOVA.
  • Generalised linear models.
  • Basic linear mixed models.
  • A selection of on-demand advanced topics, including: report creating with knitr, working efficiently with multiple statistical models (e.g., package broom), visualization of models with the ggplot2 package.
  • Putting this together to solve a problem.

For all Zurich R Courses participants should bring their own laptops to the course. Internet access will be provided, to allow installation of any required software and packages.
