description

The ggvis package makes it easy to create interactive data graphics with R, with a declarative syntax similar to ggplot2. Like ggplot2, ggvis uses concepts from the grammar of graphics, but it also adds the ability to create interactive graphics and deliver them over the web.
In this tutorial, you'll learn:

  • The basic grammar of ggvis
  • How to connect graphical components to basic controls
  • How to use dplyr within ggvis to perform common data manipulations needed for graphics
  • How to use rmarkdown and ggvis to create rich interactive reports (including linking between plots and tables)
  • How to deploy ggvis plots so that anyone can see them (with shinyapps.io)
  • The basics of embedding ggvis plots in shiny apps

For all Zurich R Courses participants should bring their own laptops to the course and will be informed by email in advance which packages they need to install.
